RE: Compatibility of other products in conjunction with Super-Krete products and systems

 

To whom it may concern,

 

Super-Krete International, Inc. manufactures a complete system of products for the repair, restoration, waterproofing and beautification of concrete surfaces.

 

Super-Krete confidently provides a 5-year warranty against delamination when our products are installed as a system, per Super-Krete specifications by installers who are Certified by Super-Krete. This is an exceptional warranty for such types of products. There is no warranty that exists when products other than Super-Krete products have been used in any installation. This is because Super-Krete cannot guarantee the merchantability, quality, compatibility or characteristics of products that are NOT in our systems.

 

It has recently come to our attention where a notable amount of issues have arisen on projects where aSUper-Krete system installlations have been comprimised by the use of other branded sealers and bond release agents. We have received an excessive amount of technical calls questioning why other brands of sealer are "turning white" and "peeling off" of Super-Krete sub-surfaces, as well as why stamping mats and tools are "sticking" to Super-Krete cementitious overlayments during the stamping process.

 

This bulletin is targeted towards distributors of Super-Krete products to educate buyers of Super-Krete products that Super-Krete manufactures sealers for every type of application and to not ecourage installers of Super-Krete products to seal a finished surface with another brand to avoid issues of incompatibility and to ensure a quality Super-Krete installation. Additionally, Super-Krete manufactures a unique blend of release agents that provide a stronger bond release than typical release agents used for stamping concrete. This is because Super-Krete cementitious overlayments contain proprietary adhesives that enable a co-adhesive bond with concrete. Regular concrete does not contain such additives. Therefore, a stronger bond release agent is required when stamping Super-Krewte overlays. Super-Krete Liquid Release Agent should be the only release agent used when stamping Super-Krete overlayments.

 

For installers, this is a reminder that no warranty exists for non-Certified Applicators of Super-Krete products or for any installation where the Super-Krete system has been comprimised.
