Step Up Your Typical Acrylic Sealer with SK-P250

Acrylic sealers are versatile, easy to install and economical. They are ideal for a variety of interior and exterior applications when good stain resistance and gloss are desired. Take our popular Supra-Seal™ VOC and Supra-Seal Plus, for instance. These solvent-based acrylic sealers are heavily relied upon by contractors and architects to bring out the rich, natural beauty of a substrate.

However, not every sealer is suitable for every project. When a floor will be exposed to constant foot or equipment traffic – like a shopping center, casino, restaurant or hotel – your typical acrylic sealer could wear prematurely. Stepping up your sealer to SK-P250 will provide you with improved gloss retention and performance in these busy areas, and help maintain the integrity of the flooring system long-term.

SK-P250 is a two-component, low-viscosity, water-repellant acrylic urethane. The material is tough, stain resistant, chemical resistant, easy to clean, UV stable and boasts a variety of uses:

• Works flawlessly as a sealer over many color stains and acid stains.
• Can be used over concrete pavers or porous masonry pavers, common in shopping malls, residential driveways and patios.
• Ideal over irregular decorative cementitious surfaces, such as stamped overlayments, knock-down textures, lace and skip trowel finishes.

Further, SK-P250 can bond chemically to itself, even weeks or years after it was placed. The surface only needs to be clean, while all other polyurethanes after cure must be abraded to provide a mechanical bond. 

This highly versatile product can also be used as a primer. It’s formulated with a superior adhesion promoter, allowing it to adhere to properly prepared cementitious and select masonry surfaces.

For areas requiring even more durability and chemical resistance – such as clean rooms, automotive repair facilities and air hangars – SK-P100 or SK-P501 can provide the right performance properties.

• SK-P100 is a two-component, high-solids aliphatic polyurethane that produces protective films that are hard, flexible and very impact resistant. It offers high abrasion and scratch resistance, exterior durability, easy soil release and excellent resistance to a broad range of chemicals.
  
  
• SK-P501 is a high-solids, two-component, water-based aliphatic polyurethane with performance properties equal to conventional solvent-based catalyzed urethanes without the associated health and environmental problems. The formula offers substantial performance improvements over first generation catalyzed water-based polyurethanes, including higher film-build capabilities, improved chemical resistance and resistance to hot tire pick-up and staining.
